Child Safe Standards review now open for consultation

News 19 December 2018

Consultation is now open for the the Victorian Government's review of the Child Safe Standards and the associated regulatory scheme.

Organisations, their staff and volunteers, peak associations, relevant authorities and regulators, and members of the community who work with children or have children are invited to respond to an issues paper and participate in a short survey.

The review will help to identify how the Victorian Child Safe Standards have been understood and implemented by organisations in their initial period of operation to promote improvements in the child safe culture in organisations, and whether the regulatory scheme that supports compliance with the Child Safe Standards is operating effectively.

Evidence gathered in the review will also inform ongoing work on the development of a nationally consistent approach to child safe standards in Australia.

The issues paper and survey are available at the Engage Victoria website. Consultation closes on Friday 22 February 2019.
