Our Gender Equality Action Plan 2026-30 helps us plan, implement and measure change to achieve workplace gender equality.
How we developed the plan
To develop the plan, we undertook a workplace gender audit and analysed workforce data, consulted directly with employees and analysed the results of all-staff surveys to help understand the importance of gender equality, identified areas where change is required and developed strategies and measures to address any perceived or actual gaps or issues in relation to gender equality.
Areas of focus
We are committed to implementing the identified strategies and measures outlined in our Gender Equality Action Plan.
All strategies and measures are categorised under the workplace gender equality indicators:
- gender composition of all levels of the workforce
- gender composition of the governing body
- equal remuneration for work of equal or comparable value across all levels of the workforce, irrespective of gender
- eexual harassment in the workplace
- recruitment and promotion practices in the workplace
- availability and use of terms, conditions and practices relating to family violence leave, flexible working arrangement and working arrangements supporting employees with family or caring responsibilities
- gendered segregation within the workplace.

Progress report – 2026
As a defined entity under the Gender Equality Act 2020 (the Act), the Commission was required to submit a progress report to the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector in May 2026.
The progress report addressed the following elements outlined in section 19 of the Act:
- the policies, programs and services that were subject to a gender impact assessment and the outcomes of those gender impact assessments
- progress in relation to the strategies and measures set out in the Commission’s 2022-25 Gender Equality Action Plan against the workplace gender equality indicators
As part of reporting to the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector, we collected raw data, including employee experience data from 2025 and reviewed and analysed the data against critical performance measures.
Pleasingly, the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector has assessed the Commission’s progress report and action plan as compliant under the Act.
