Helping children and young people take part in What matters most

We want to hear from children and young people under 25 from across Victoria about what matters most to them.

What matters most gives children and young people the chance to get creative and share what’s important to them, including what they would like to see change in Victoria.

Supporting children and young people to take part

We’ve created an instruction sheet for teachers to use in their classroom and an information sheet for adults

Children and young people can share their story however they’d like. They can write it down, draw a picture, record a video, or create a piece of music.

They will need access to a smartphone or laptop to upload the creation.

Getting children and young people inspired

Children and young people can focus on any topic they like, for example, school, family or home, hobbies, culture, or religious beliefs.

We have also created a few prompts to help get the creativity flowing:

  • What would you like to see changed to make things better for children and young people?
  • What do you care about?
  • Celebrating your difference - what makes you, you?
