The Commission has developed new free webinars on the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme to replace our face-to-face sessions which cannot occur at this time due to COVID-19.
Each webinar runs for 90 minutes and includes the opportunity to ask questions of Commission staff.
The Child Safe Standards protect children from abuse and are mandatory for organisations that provide services or facilities for children in Victoria. You can find out more about who needs to comply here.
The Reportable Conduct Scheme requires certain organisations to report allegations of child abuse and neglect by their workers and volunteers to the Commission. It aims to improve organisations’ responses and places responsibilities on the heads of certain organisations. Check here to see if your organisation has to comply with the Scheme.
Who should attend these webinars?
These introductory webinars are targeted at senior staff and those responsible for implementing the Child Safe Standards or Reportable Conduct Scheme in their organisation. This might include CEOs, principal officers, Child Safety Officers, Member Protection and Information Officers, human resources staff, governance and compliance managers, committees of management or small business owners.
The webinars may also be valuable if you would like a general understanding of organisations’ responsibilities under the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.
