Modelling a Generous Community Award

Every year as part of the Robin Clark Awards, the Principal Commissioner awards the Modelling a Generous Community Award.

In its sixth year, the award recognises a person who has made a significant contribution to the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable Victorian children.

This year's recipient is Mr Mohamed Elmasri from Care with Me.

Mohamed has worked hard to promote cultural identity as being intrinsic to the health, wellbeing and normal development of children and young people from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds who live in out-of-home care.

He has shown us that there are many people from diverse communities ready and willing to share information with carers and associated professional parties to enhance the provision of culturally inclusive care and support.

The work of Mohamed and a number of volunteer members of Care with Me recently culminated in the success of their inaugural conference Many Cultures, Many Celebrations.
